I wanted to thank you for the many ways in which you have supported Jon's adjustment to Your Life and my comfort level as we both moved through what has been a very difficult transition in our lives. The photo we have in Jon's room given to him during the Christmas exchange is a daily reminder of the staff's efforts to make each resident feel at home and to find some level of joy and fun in their new environment. But most of all, I want to THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of the group vaccination thus helping both Jon and I to have the best level of protection we can have from this scary virus. I have made numerous efforts to get the shot on my own and found it very difficult.
My first introduction to Your Life was when I contacted Jessica to inquire about your Respite Program. I was amazed and grateful when she made it possible for Jon and I to get tested for the virus the very day I called her because I knew I was having health issues and feared Jon would need a place to stay if I suddenly had to go to the hospital. I DID end up in the hospital a week later and although our opportunity to take advantage of the Respite program was no longer viable, I remained very grateful for Jessica's efforts to help. Some time later, Jessica contacted me again and offered to bring meals by our home when she discovered I was still not feeling well. So from the beginning, I have found the YOUR LIFE staff to be supportive and caring.
I know this has been a difficult time for the staff due to the challenges the pandemic has imposed and hope that your hard work and personal sacrifices are ultimately rewarded. What a blessing it will be for ALL of us when the constant fears of contamination are behind us and we can enjoy a level of normalcy that we have all missed so much and will never take for granted again.
Thanks from both of us, Jon and Karen
